Too Cute!
This past week, I spent some time with my college roommate, Kendall, her husband, Roger, and their soon-to-be 4 year old daughter, Madelyn. Mady is an only child.
She is adorable. Her Mady-isms were plentiful, so I thought you all would enjoy them:
****
Mady: “Jessica, do you think you can come visit again?”
Jessica: “Sure, can I bring Craig?”
Mady: “Well, if you would like to.”
*****
Mady (sitting on the ottoman in front of me, sitting up very straight): “Interview me.”
Jessica: “Mady, what would you like to be when you grow up?”
Mady: “A princess.”
Jessica: “Why do you want to be a princess?”
Mady: “Because no one knows me.”
*****
Mady: “Good Lord!”
Kendall: “Mady! We don’t say that and you know it.”
Mady: “Ok…..Good Gravy!”
****
Kendall: “Mady, I heard you play a certain game.”
Mady: “yea, the kissing game.”
Roger: Stern Stare to Mady
Kendall: “How do you play the kissing game?”
Mady: “You touch someone and then kiss them.”
Kendall: “And, who did you kiss?”
Mady: *big smile* “Lawson”
****
Mady: “Do you play the kissing game with your husssss-band???”
Jessica: “Well, maybe.”
Mady: “I bet you do!”
****
Kendall: “Mady, tell Jessica what your sisters name is.”
Mady: “Sarah Cornbread.”
****
Mady: “Jessica, I have an idea. You should move to Sikeston.”
Jessica: “haha. Mady, did your mom pay you to say that?”
Mady: *big smile* “Noooooo!”
****

Mady’s so cute. I can so see Kendall telling Mady to tell you to move to Sikeston.
So is Kendall pregnant? Why does Mady have a “sister,” Sarah Cornbread?? I’m confuzzled…

No, Kendall isn’t pregnant.
Mady has imaginary friends, an imaginary sister, and an imaginary cat who leaves imaginary scratches on her arms. It’s hilarious.
And the fact that she named the sister Sarah Cornbread just cracks me up.
Where do kids come up with this stuff? :o)

I think it is important to point out that Kendall, your college roommate, is not the same “college roommate” that was mentioned in the previous post who had the two-toned issue…as well as the two (or more) personality issue. I don’t want people thinking Kendall is a psycho who tells her kid she has a sister named Sara Cornbread
BTW…Sara Cornbread…hilarious! I have a friend whose 3-yr old daughter calls everyone Mookie Star…no idea where that came from. Kids crack me up…but not enough to want to have one of my own

Martha- great point on the roommate situation. Kendall was NOT the crazy roommate I was referring to in a previous post.
Kendall was a fun, sane roommate!
So was Step-on-me Marshmallow :o)
