Vacation!
Today officially starts my vacation! Although it was a short week (Monday was a Holiday), I kept very, very busy at working preparing for my time off. I still have a few things to do today from home (mostly send emails) for work, but I’ll spend most of the day cleaning up the house and packing for the cruise.
Hubs works 1/2 day. He was going to be done at noon, but he worked in one final patient to help out one of our docs, so Hubs won’t be home until after 1pm.
Last night we went through the TiVo and set things to record, deleted other shows, and reset series priorities (in light of the New Big Brother Season!).
An update on the Useless Clothing post: I feel the need to clarify what I mean by ankle socks. Mostly, I’m in total disbelief that anyone supported the use of ankle socks. They roll down, they end up covering half my foot and are TOTALLY annoying and I’ve convinced myself that people who left positive ankle socks comments aren’t thinking of the same socks I am. Morgan commented about the “no-show” versus “ankle socks.” And I totally agree with her. When I say “ankle socks” I really mean the no-show socks, as seen here:

Now, what I do love (and wear) are what most people probably call Ankle socks, as shown here:
Even if the “leg” part is a little lower, I still wear them. There’s a big difference between these two pair of socks.
Does that bring anyone over to my side?
Hubs cracked up watching me read comments from people in support of ankle socks. I read, in total disbelief, about how much other people love them. But, I’m fairly certain that with the distinction, people will agree with me.
And, if not, I need new friends. Mostly because I judge my friendships based on whether people agree with me or not on the best fitting socks.
A few things on my to do list for the day:
Get money from the bank
Laundry/Pack
Charge portable electronic devices (Nintendo DS, Sirius Stiletto, DVD player)
Tidy up around the house
Call Cooper Camp to secure his reservation for next week (one day)
Call Aetna to bitch ‘em out for having my birthdate wrong which prevented me from picking up my RX last night
Finish up work stuff
Pedicure
Time to get my day started. Doopers and I have much to do!
See, you’re just weird. I love your hated socks and hate the socks you love!
I only have one pair of the first kind that roll down and end up around the arch of my foot. They’re a size too small. Maybe you need bigger socks.

I’m with KyLydia ~ those ones that you can see above your shoes are kindergarten socks. Have you ever worn them with rubber boots - they slide down and then your feet get wet and sweaty, your ankles get chaffed and you look like a dork - take it from one who knows.
The less sock you see the better off life is!

I am dying laughing at this post! I just want you to know that I read your blog through bloglines, and don’t always have time to comment. Ok, that’s taken care of.
The socks?? OMword are you funny!!! I prefer the no-show ones, because you don’t look like you’re wearing socks, but your shoes don’t get stinky from not having socks. I don’t mind the ankles ones either though

I was just logging in to agree with Lydia; your clarification totally is the opposite of my personal preference. Oh well, that’s why they make many kinds of socks!

Hey, I’m with you on the “ankle socks” issue….hate the ones that get eaten up into my shoe!!! Don’t like the ones with the little pom pom either but I always wear the ones that come up just a little bit above the ankle. Also can’t stand flip flops with the thingie between your toes!
