I can’t CONTAIN it!

Betcha didn’t know today was Container Saturday! I was on a container kick. I went to Garden Ridge to “window shop” (I know, most people window shop at Macy’s and Saks, but not me) and ended up with some really cool stuff.

I bought this box and turned it into my ribbon storage for my stamping/scrapbooking goodies:

And, with the help of my trusy drill and some dowel rods and caps I bought, I turned it into this:

BOX4

My friend Holli’s husband made her one, so I’ll give credit where it’s due….thanks Shane for the great idea!

And while window shopping, I came across this (which I’m VERY excited about):

What is it? It’s a container to store wrapping paper! And it has a handle for easy carrying. And the clear top pops off and there’s storage inside the red thingy for ribbon, tape, and scissors! LOVE IT! And, it was only $10.

It’s OK. You can make fun of me for taking such joy in the small things- I can handle it.

From today’s To-Do list:

  • Updated Quicken- CHECK!
  • Checked out the two houses I found online last night- CHECK!
  • Garden Ridge- CHECK!
  • Laundry- no check
  • Clean out the ‘rents closet- no check
  • Fed Jet- CHECK!
  • Went to the movies with Matt- CHECK!

Cards, Cards, Cards!

I’m not talking about the Cardinals, either. I’m talking about the cards I just made. Got several big events coming up over the next month, so I kicked it into high gear this afternoon and made a couple cards. One is for a lady at work (her birthday) and another is for a friends wedding this coming weekend (I’m *fairly* certain she doesn’t read the blog). I like the wedding card best~ even made a little keepsake insert for her.

Over the last month, I’ve spent more money than usual on Scrapbooking/card making supplies. This weekend I bought 2,000 eyelets off eBay and then yesterday I went to Michaels and bought some ribbon. Mel wants to see it, so here ya go!

Have a couple of more to make- post ‘em as I get ‘em done.

Baby Card

As they say, there must be something in the water. Don’t worry, I’m not preggers, but in the last week, I’ve learned about 3 people close to me who are!

One cannot be revealed at this time (they’ve asked me not to tell), but the other pregnancies are both ladies I work with- one is a doctor and the other is a nurse. I’m very excited!

My good college friend, Sara, is also pregnant and due December 24th.

For the doc at my work, I recently stamped a card and want to share. (I’d also like to point out that I’m posting using my new laptop and I downloaded this card picture from my digital card reader thats built into said laptop….thanks baby!)

Thank you Card

I don’t have too much time these days to scrapbook and stamp, but I did make a Thank You card last night for Jill, the lady that came in after hours to x-ray Craig’s ankle when he sprained it a few weeks back. She went way out of her way to help us, so I definitely wanted to personalize our thank you.

I wish more people would publish their designs….then I could borrow (read: steal) them :)
