Today, Craig was supposed to leave the ‘ville bright and early on his way to Omaha via St. Louis. I knew leaving was going to be difficult since he’s never moved out of Kentucky and now that his Nana recently passed, his poor mom has been totally dreading us leaving KY.
Around 10am, I get “the call” from Craig. I originally thought “the call” would be the somber, down-and-out call sounding something like, “hey babes. I left the ‘ville. It was difficult and I’m sad, but I’m on the road to St. Louis.” What I did not expect was “the call” that I actually got which sounded like “hey babes. I just fell down the stairs and sprained my ankle.”
You have got to be kidding me. Seriously, is this really happening to us?
Sure enough, while lugging his suitcase down the stairs this morning, he completely missed the last 2 steps and landed smack-dab on his right ankle.

So, our game plan for today changed slightly now that Craig couldn’t drive. His parents drove him up here and they arrived just after 6:30 CST. My pops looked at Craig’s ankle (Pops is a physician) and ordered an x-ray, so I paged my friend, Jill, who is an x-ray tech and she met us up at the office (which had closed already) and she shot the films. Took them back to pops at home and in the dim lights of the living room, he said they looked “ok.” They’ll be read by a radiologist tomorrow, but hopefully things are OK.
The mothership made a great meal and we relaxed a bit before we had to say goodbye to the Lotz ‘rents. They’re staying tonight at an area hotel, so we said goodbye at the house and they headed out for the night. About 10 minutes later, we get a call from the Lotz Mothership and she said that apparently Craig left his phone on the hotel bed when they dropped their stuff off in the room earlier tonight. So, we drove over to the hotel and grabbed his phone. This gave us a final opportunity to say goodbye.
It’s been a very long day and an exhausting last 2 weeks, so needless to say, I’ll be thrilled when Sunday is over and we’re all moved into our new residence in the great state of Nebraska.
I’d better hit the sack. I’ll awake in 6 hours and drive 8 hours to Oma-he. Wish us luck on our trek through the Midwest. Next blog will be posted from Nebraska!

I’m not sure how many of you watch NCIS on CBS, but I literally almost peed myself last night. The episode was about a serial killer who was being put to death in 3 days, however, victims kept turning up, and he knew who was killing, so he was convinced the State of Virginia wouldn’t put him to death. Anyway, so, they bring in Agent Gibbs who is the one responsible for catching this guy 10 years ago b/c this guy will only talk to Gibbs. Gibbs walks into his office and sees this guys mug shot and info on a big screen…..the camera pans into the pic and then away……and on the mug shot and accompaning report, it said:

Do you notice anything? It says “H1 J355ICA” which clearly reads “HI JESSICA.” We rewinded it just so we could be sure. Yup, thats what it says. OK, cool, there are like a million Jessica’s out there.
Fast Forward to the end of the episode: car chase between the killer’s autobiographer and the agents. The agency has been tracking the author’s whereabouts and they are finally close to catching up with him…..the agency is giving directions to the agents over the radio and they instruct Gibbs “if you take a left on McCarthy RIGHT NOW, you should be able to cut him off!” This is the point where I wet my drawers.

I’m not so much looking forward to the next 3 weeks…mostly because my new favorite shows air on Fox and the Baseball playoffs will be shown instead. I understand like 100 trillion people will probably watch the playoffs, but come on kids, I need my shows. Taking away my shows one month into the new season is like giving me a diamond ring that doesn’t fit, so it has to go to the jewelers and be fitted and won’t be ready for 3 weeks. I lose sleep over this kinda stuff.
For the next 3 weeks, I will play scenario after scenario in my head about how Fish plans to execute his break from prison now that his escape plans have been discovered by other inmates. And what about House? I just now got into the show (took Scott’s Blogging to catch my interest) and now I’m forced to wait even longer. This is worse than having to wait all summer for Nip/Tuck Season 2 to be released on DVD. At least with Nip/Tuck, we got to stay in all weekend and watch 12 of 13 shows in two days, so I got more than my fill of it
I’m fairly certain I gained at least 5 lbs that weekend.
I know, you’re thinking I’m addicted to TV, and I probably am. But, with working from home and having a husband in graduate school for Clinical Psychology, I’ve got a lot of time on my hands after hours. I don’t waste time getting all dolled up for work, I don’t have long commutes to anywhere, and I have until 8:00pm to find something to do until Craig comes home (thats 10:00 pm on Tuesdays, thanks to Stupa-vision). Plus, its my time to bond with the babies (Howie and Janey, see previous post).
Ah well, guess I’ll get over it, huh?
