My
little sister, Liz, lives in Italy and designs shoes and purses (is there ANY question she was destined to be my little??!). She emailed me this morning and said she spent St. Patty’s day in Ireland. While there, she saw my McCarthy family crest, so she took a picture of it. How cool is that? Liz most definitely rocks.
I’ve never seen my family crest before, so this was especially cool for me to receive. The McCarthy motto, according to our crest, is “to the brave and faithful, nothing is difficult.” So awesome.
In sincere appreciation to my lil’, I post this picture of her b/c it’s a great pic and she looks *hot*

Thank you hon!

The first real time I went to Vegas was in Oct 2001. I recount the festive memories of that trip in an earlier post.
I tripped to Vegas again in March 2003. We planned the trip with my best friend, Martha, her husband, Patrick, my other best friend Polly, and Maggie, a college friend and Polly’s little sister in the sorority. We went for another long weekend and, of course, had a blast. What made it even more fun was that Craig proposed to me the day before we left. So, I got to travel in style with my new bling bling.
We arrived in Vegas and established a routine. This was Craig, Martha and Trick’s first time in Sin City, so we did the usual touristy stuff. It was a little difficult keeping up with a schedule b/c Martha, the boys, and I were in one room and Polly and Maggie were in another. And, after the first night, we got our sleep schedules all out of wack, so Polly and Maggie stuck to a similar schedule Polly and I had the first time in Vegas, while me and the others weren’t able to stay out as late because we were exhausted from walking (also, with the boys in tow, our ability to score free alcoholic beverages was significantly limited).
The Bellagio had redone the interior of the lobby and it was absolutely beautiful.

Patrick also enjoyed time he spent with the ladies…

A great memory from the trip involved me getting the wind knocked out of my body during a reality check. Here’s what went down- Martha, Patrick, the Craigster and I were walking through New York New York hotel and casino. We had just rounded a corner and began heading in another direction when I felt this POUNDING on my back. I probably would have lost consciousness, but I immediately realized why Patrick had slapped the crap outta me….Bob the Bachelor had just walked by us. Now, I know I watch like 20 shows a week, but I’ve never watched the Bachelor. The Fraffels (aka Martha and Patrick), however, are huge fans of the show. Knowing this, I can’t really fault Trick for nearly killing me. Patrick meeting Bob would be the equivalent of a Jessica-Jake Gyllenhall meeting.
Bob was kind enough to offer himself for a picture.

Once again, Vegas proved to be tons of fun. Craig enjoyed his first time in the big city.
Martha and I had such a blast, that just 8 months later, we rounded up our partner in crime, Laura, and hit the city streets again.
I want to name our first born “Vegas.” I love that place.
