Dang it. Sorry James. I was rooting for ya!
Episode recap: Chilltown strikes again. Meaning: a pawn took the fall and was booted. Apparently, they’ve now labeled it as “pulling a Howie.”
I like Chilltown, but wouldn’t mind if Janelle and Danielle (The “elles” as I call them) secretly aligned and booted out the men. However, with Erika as HOH, I doubt Chilltown is in danger. I think Erika looks like a corpse. She’s very thin (too thin) and her face is concave. Her cheeks are sunken in and she has weird colored skin. I dont like her.
Basically, Erika and Chicken George need to go so Dani and Jani can duke it out against Chilltown. How sweet would that be?
Alright, well, my London Bridge is tired (Martha, is that approrpiate use of the term??) so I’m going to bed.

Most people let minor morning mishaps ruin a potentially good day. Not me.
While showering this morning, I realized that my tub water wasn’t draining like it should. I flicked the tub stopper thingy several times, thinking maybe it was set to plug the tub. Nope.
I finished bathing, then headed into my bedroom (i’m in O-town, so my bedroom is in the back of the basement). As I’m changing into my work clothes, an alarm in the utility room starts BLARING very loudly. I knew this alarm well- it’s an alarm my parents put in the uility room to alert us to potential sewage back ups. If the sewage pipe backs up into the room, the alarm sounds at the slightest bit of water. So, as I’m working my way into my slacks, the alarm sounds. AH CRAP (literally).
I throw on my towel, bypass the utility room and make my way upstairs while yelling “CRAP! CRAP!” To which my mom replies, “What?”
“CRAP,” I say, “There’s crap backing up into the house! Quick, downstairs to the utility room mother!” She bolts downstairs while yelling back to me, “grab some of the old towels. QUICK! RUN!” By the time I return with the towels, our own little Old Faithful has sprung in our utility room. It was absolutely disgusting!!
The mothership instructs me to grab the Little Green Machine (the wetvac) and FAST. So, I’m running upstairs and all of our commotion has awaken Pops…so he heads downstairs and together he and the mothership tend to the poop. I, on the other hand, after retrieving the Little Green Machine, make my way back into the bathroom to finish up getting ready for work.
You see, as much as I enjoy helping others, I hold a (not-so-concealable) grudge towards homeowners. This grudge prevented me being able to help my parents. Because, until I own my own home, I will not scoop poop from a backed up sewer. No way, no how. One day, in what seems like many, many years, when I finally own my first house, I will be more than happy to assume the role of pooper scooper b/c I will be protector of my house. But, until that day arrives, I must step back and let the houses rightful owners protect their ass-ets and scoop away!
I had a good day at work. Still training everyone on the new software in preparation for the big conversion (which is T minus 7 days and counting). Regardless of my crappy start to the day, it ended well and I’m happy to report that Plumber Dan took very good care of us (and the clogged pipe).

I roll with a diverse crowd of people. Ethnically, religiously, politically- my friends span the diversity spectrum.
They all work in differing industries, too. Craig always jokes and says I only keep friends around that prove useful to me in one way or another….it ain’t true! I swear
Although, I do pretty much have most of my bases covered when it comes to big ticket items- many, many friends of mine are attorneys, but they all practice in different areas of the law…I have an estate attorney friend, a defense attorney friend, an employment law attorney friend, a patent law attorney friend, a malpractice (defense) attorney friend, and then attorney friends that I have no freaking clue what they do. I have a close friend that runs a Ford dealership, so I’ve got a good connection when it comes to purchasing a vehicle (Thanks, Rog, for Craig’s truck!). A good friend of mine is in Medical School (and my BIL is a physician, too)- so when I have embarassing questions I won’t ask my dad, I know who to call. I have a close friend that works with investments and can advise me on financial planning. Got several friends that know computers and networking extremely well that I call for just about anything PC related question/advice. I recently made friends with a carpenter (although, it’ll be a while before I hit him up for advice considering I don’t own anything I can redo). A good college friend of mine is an accountant. She Rocks!
Well, this got me thinking…what can I offer my friends? My career enables me to learn a lot about healthcare, but how can I take what I do and use it to help my friends? I mean, when I have a legal question, my biggest problem is choosing which friend to call. But, when could someone count on my knowledge and expertise to help them out?
The first thing that comes to mind is when dealing with health insurance companies. I know insurance companies very well.
- Changing jobs and need to pick an insurance plan? Call me.
- Don’t understand the difference between the plans you can choose between? Call me.
- Don’t understand the terminology (COB, EOB, deductible, co-insurance, cost share, copayment, etc)? Call me.
- Can’t decide between the PPO or the high-deductible plan? Call me.
- Want to save money by switching to a high-deductible plan combined with a Health Savings Account? Call me.
- Should you opt to enroll in COBRA between jobs? Call me.
- Did your insurance deny your last visit to your doctor by claiming your condition was “pre-existing” and you have no idea what that means or why they can do that to you? Call me.
I also understand employee benefits really well. Whats the difference between participating in the 401(k) or the Roth IRA? Should you opt into your company’s “Medical flex spending account” or not. Call me. I’m pretty good at understand the various plans and why one plan may be better for you than another.
In addition to the healthcare/benefits knowledge, I can also write the heck out of an employee performance evaluation and/or disciplinary document. So, if you’re a manager and need someone to proof read sanitized documents, call me.
On a personal level, I’m good at a number of other things that have proved beneficial to friends over the years.
- I love traveling and am willing to go anywhere at least once. Call me.
- I drink. Had a bad day at work? Call me, we can gripe about it over a Margarita. Ticked at your hubby? Call me, I’ll have you over for some kickin’ pina coladas. Money troubles got you down? Call me, I’ll take you to Applebees half price happy hour and buy you a $1.25 Bud Light. Been stuck at home with the little ones and need Mommy time? Call me, I’ll treat you to some adult drinks and conversation.
- I make my own greeting cards and mail them out to unexpecting friends across the country. Haven’t ever received one? Just wait…you will!
- I do web design. Been wanting to start your own blog but just don’t know how? Call me.
- Going to Vegas? YOU BETTER CALL ME!
- Bought a new house and need some help painting? Call Martha and Patrick (not me). They’re great.
I’m very blessed with the great friends I have and they always help me out when I need them. So, now that you know how I can help YOU out, call me
