I’m so proud to introduce baby Owen Patrick! Martha gave birth on Friday morning at 8:35am. Owen weighed in at 7 lbs 9 oz and is 21″ long. He’s waaaay bigger than we all anticipated!
Here’s Martha last month at her baby shower:

Most people thought she was having a girl, but I had a feeling it was a boy
And, here he is….precious lil’ Owen.

Precious. Precious.
Mom and dad are doing well. Can’t wait for them to get home and be 4 houses down from us

Snagged this from Pink Lucy.
1. Who is your man? Craig S (he won’t let me put his middle name)
2. How long have you been together? November 1998
3. How long did you date? 6 years
4. How old is your man? 27 y/o
5. Who eats more? He does6. Who said “I love you” first? He did
7. Who is taller? He is, although about once a month, I walk up to him to kiss him and I think I’m just as tall as he is and we lovingly argue about it for about 5 minutes
8. Who sings better? Definitely him!
9. Who is smarter? Oh man….he did better in high school, I did better in college. We got the same ACT score and I got 30 more points on the SAT. I only have a bachelors and he has his masters and doctorate. He’s great with math, I struggle with math on-the-fly. He can never take an IQ test b/c he administers them and I’ll never let him give me one- so maybe we’ll never know!
10. Whose temper is worse? Neither of us have a temper, but he’s soooo laid back, then I have to say I have the worst temper.
11. Who does the laundry? Craig does (although, you wouldn’t know it based on the past few days
12. Who takes out the garbage? I do. He brings in the trash can later that night.
13. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? While laying on the bed, Craig sleeps to the right.
14. Who pays the bills? Craig makes the money, I pay the bills.
15. Who is better with the computer? Me.
16. Who mows the lawn? He does.
17. Who cooks dinner? I do- he’s tried a few times, though
18. Who drives when you are together? We both do. I prefer that he does, but since he’s still new to town and doesn’t know where everything is, I’m driving more right now.
19. Who pays when you go out? Craig takes care of the bill.
20. Who is most stubborn? We’re equally unstubborn. Although, he would say I’m more stubborn.
21. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? I’m probably wrong more often, so I have to admit it more often. But, when Craig is wrong, he will admit it, he’s just not wrong very often.
22. Whose parents do you see the most? Well, that would have to be mine since they live 1 mile down the road and both work with us. The in-laws live in Louisville, so we don’t get to see them very often
23. Who kissed who first? He kissed me first, but neither of us remember it!
24. Who asked who out? Neither of us asked the other one out. We were hanging out a lot and that turned into the boyfriend-girlfriend relationship.
25. Who proposed? He did. I pulled him up off his knee and was screaming “yes!yes!” before I even saw the ring. In fact, I nearly knocked the ring box out of his hand I was so excited!
26. Who is more sensitive? I definitely cry more than him, but he’s more sensitive about relationship things…how much time we spend together, etc.
27. Who has more friends? I do. I have to make him, make friends.
28. Who has more siblings? I do. I have two sisters and a brother and he has one of each.
29. Who wears the pants in the family? Most of the time, I do. But, when I’m being ridiculous, he takes over

With a heavy heart, we unexpectedly said goodbye to Ben’s mom today (Ben is my brother-in-law). The angels took her home and she’ll be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Rest in Peace, Millie.

Isn’t Searcy just adorable?
I think she has her daddy’s smarts, her mommies temper and grace, her uncle Hubs cheeks and her aunt Jess’ charm and beauty

The new look is temporary. I jacked up the coding in my other theme and of course, I hadn’t copied the code before I started messin’ with it, so I lost it.
I’m going to try and make a new theme so stay tuned!
And by “make” I mean “find a theme I like and then personalize it to become my own.”

Received this via email from Polly and wanted to share!
“The Golden Telephone”
Y’all are going to love this one!
A man in Topeka, Kansas, decided to write a book about churches around the country. He started by flying to San Francisco, and started working east from there. Going to a very large church, he began taking photographs and making notes. He spotted a golden telephone on the vestibule wall and was intrigued with a sign which read “$10,000 a minute.”
Seeking out the pastor he asked about the phone and the sign. The pastor answered that this golden phone is, in fact, a direct line to Heaven and if he pays the price he can talk directly to God.
The man thanked the pastor and continued on his way. As he continued to visit churches in Seattle, Austin, Michigan, Chicago, Minnesota, and around the United States, he found more phones, with the same sign, and the same answer from each pastor.
Finally, he arrived in Kentucky. Upon entering a church in Tompkinsville. Behold, he saw the usual golden telephone. But THIS time, the sign read “Calls: 25 cents.”
Fascinated, he asked to talk to the pastor.
“Reverend, I have been in cities all across the country and in each church I have found this golden telephone and have been told it is a direct line to Heaven and that I could talk to God, but, in the other churches the cost was $10,000 a minute. Your sign reads 25 cents a call. Why?”
The pastor, smiling benignly, replied, “Son, you’re in Kentucky now; it’s a local call.”

Dear Neighbors,
Please notice the sign in our yard. Your concerns have been heard and yesterday we spent several hours landscaping the sign that welcomes folks to our neighborhood. We realize we may not have done exactly what you asked us to do and we certainly did it on our own time frame, but the good news is that the sign is done.
We pulled up the two dead evergreens and several dead/dying boxwoods. We also planted 4 mums of varying colors which should bloom within the next month. We also mulched (notice we did not lay the white rock as previously had been requested).
Next year we’ll get rid of the pine tree. Pinky promise.
(P.S. I erased the name of our subdivision to keep some privacy up in here).

I’ve purchased my bracelets and I’m ready to embark on this journey. I’ve seen many people go through a transformation after discovering the power of O.
Nearly every day, something I do is influenced by O.
Jennie, the mothership and mothership-in-love, Stew— they all use the O to their benefit.
So I, too, shall begin asking myself “W.W.O.D?”
What Would Oprah Do?
Not a day goes by when I ask a question and someone answers with “Well, Oprah says…”
Seriously, you’d think Oprah was omnipotent; apparently, she knows something about everything!
Me: “Oh, my stomach hurts.”
Jennie: “Is your Poo S-shaped?”
Me: “Excuse me?”
Jennie: “Is your Poo S-shaped? Oprah says your poo should be s-shaped.”
When we first got Coop, everyone had advice for us, but mostly people referred us to Oprah. Apparently Oprah has on this dog expert that knows it all.
Well, we watched Cesar and using some of his training, we have successfully taught Coop not to bite.
I think about the careers that Oprah has shaped. She introduced the world to Dr. Phil, Rachel Ray, Cesar Millan, and Dr. Oz.
She opened an amazing school in South Africa.
I could learn a thing or two from this lady.
I’m going to start Tivo’ing Oprah every day. The biggest challenge will be finding the time to watch the shows. I barely watch TV as it is, but hopefully I’ll be able to set aside time to keep up.
Her season premiere is September 10th, so I’ve got a few weeks to rev up for the big event.
I’m psyched about the O!
