Please keep my brother, the soldier, in your prayers. He grieves with us several thousand miles from home. we love you, Soldier!
We’re en route to CT to celebrate her life with the family she gave so much for.

Hot off the press! I started reading it tonight!

If you (or someone you love) have/has cancer, asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, muscle aches, or don’t sleep well, you should be on Vitamin D.

Had a good week and a nice weekend. The Menu Plan Monday worked out fabulously for us. What a nice change to come home and already know what I was going to make. And, I had all of the ingredients I needed!
I stuck to the menu and we enjoyed a nice week of home cooking.
I would recap more of the weekend, but I don’t remember it. Isn’t that terrible? I remember sleeping; thats about it! Lydia and I are forming a club…if you can’t remember a damn thing, you can join us!
A highlight from the week that I do remember is coming home for lunch one day with Hubs and watching American Gladiator. If you haven’t yet seen the new series, I just feel sorry for you. It’s HILARIOUS!! It’s so cheezy. My favorite gladiator by far is Wolf or maybe Hellga. Guess what Wolf does when the Hulk announces him as the competing gladiator? You guessed it! He howls! A 300 lb hairy man yelps like a wolf in some terribly failed attempt to sound mean.
Hubs discovered that the best way to enjoy American Gladiator is in slow motion. There’s nothing quite like watching athletes continually failling at the Travelator…IN SLOW MOTION!
Alright, back to what I do best. Watch TV while Hubs cleans up from dinner.

Tonight’s Chicken Teriyaki was delicious! I misread the recipe while planning, so I though it only had to cook for 30 minutes. Turns out it cooks for 30, then re-sauce, then cooks another 30 minutes, which means we ate later than we normally do, but thats OK. It was well worth it!
I also made white rice and steamed some veggies.

Hubs approves, too, which I knew approx 0.2 seconds into his first taste. He’s learned that he needs to give me his thoughts before he finishes chewing his first bite
He also overly indulges me with lots of “hmmm, oh yea, thats good stuff” throughout the meal. He’s currently in the kitchen doing the dishes.
He and the dinner are bother keepers!

A few years ago when I got my iPod, Hubs was super excited and since he didn’t have one of his own, I didn’t mind when he loaded a bunch of his songs on my iPod.
Today, I’m in the shower and have the iPod on random shuffle. When I got into the shower, I was enjoying the amazing Kelly Clarkson’s Beautiful Disaster (Live). When I got out of the shower, I was attacked with “1,2,3,4 Get Your Woman On the Floor.”
Needless to say, I’ve scheduled some time this afternoon to reclaim my iPod. Hubs got a video iPod a while back, so I don’t feel badly removing songs like “Shake Ya Ass (Mystical)” and replacing them with some of my new favorites, like OneRepublic’s “Come Home“.
